Leyla

Chief Pharmacist (Pharmacy Directorate)
Joined the NPA: 2010

I am a member of the NPA leadership team reporting directly to the NPA elected Board. My role involves accountability for managing operations within the NPA Pharmacy Directorate. I am also responsible for the provision of the NPA content development, expert advisory support services at the NPA. This includes offering pharmacy practice, service development and pharmacy business solutions to UK pharmacists and their teams.
Responsibilities also include representing the NPA to national and international stakeholders and ensuring the NPA delivers successful pharmacy public campaigns. Prior to joining the NPA I held senior management positions within community pharmacy. The NPA offers employees the opportunities to grow and develop to further their careers both within the support and the technical departments throughout the organisation.

Joy

Product Executive (Insurance Department).
Joined the NPA: 2013

I joined the NPA in a temporary position within the Insurance department; after a few months of temping I then secured an internship and after 12 months progressed to Product Executive still within the Indemnity Insurance department. My role involves assisting with the development of new insurance products and related business projects.
The recent projects I have been involved in have been the production of promotional video clips for use at the Pharmacy show and to lead the IPT (Insurance Premium Tax) project group. I am Cert CII qualified and pride myself on achieving project milestones, implementing marketing plans and executing promotional campaigns. Prior to joining the NPA I studied Performance at the University of Bedfordshire but decided not to pursue a career in media.
Although I did not intend to pursue a career in Insurance prior to working here, I sort of ‘fell into it’, but feel that my current role has given me an opportunity to utilise my educational background whilst giving me an opportunity to diversify. I still get to use my media skills whilst learning and developing new ones. I would describe the NPA as a good company that looks after its employees, offering an environment in which to grow and develop.

Leslie

Lead Systems Engineer (ICT Department)
Joined the NPA: 2015

I joined the NPA after working in IT within financial services in London for many years. My previous roles have all been in an IT support capacity, the most recent being the IT Helpdesk manager and customer IT Services manager. I have been working for the NPA for just under a year now and enjoy my job. There are a lot of projects on the go, which keep me busy and also get me involved in different parts of the business, and I also get to work with the latest IT technology as we look to upgrade the IT infrastructure environment to keep pace with the new business requirements.
My core responsibilities are to manage and support the NPA LAN infrastructure, which includes the network, servers, and desktops and so on, as well as managing and supporting core services such as Email, terminal services, data and server backups.
The NPA is an enjoyable place to work; the people are great with a friendly and enjoyable work atmosphere. It offers progression and development opportunities enabling employees to further their careers.

Nikesh

Practice pharmacist (Pharmacy Services Department)
Joined the NPA: 2015

I was attracted to the NPA because I had previous experience of using the services and have always found them to be highly valuable as a community pharmacist. As a Pharmacist, working at the NPA provides broader exposure to wider pharmacy issues and experiences. Prior to joining the NPA I worked for 8 years in community pharmacy in a variety of management positions.
The Pharmacy Services team at the NPA is a fast paced, high energy team, where each day is different. There are always a variety of projects to either participate in or lead on. Recently I have been promoted on a secondment to the position of Practice Pharmacist which is a more senior position within the team. The NPA has offered me the opportunity to develop my skill set and exposure within a supportive and encouraging environment.
